High Commissioner of Singapore presents credentials

The High Commissioner-designate of Singapore to the Republic of the Fiji Islands, HE Justice (Ret.) MPH Rubin presented his Credentials to His Excellency the Vice President, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau at Government House yesterday (18/08).

With the excellent bilateral ties shared between the two countries, fostered by goodwill over the years, HE Justice Rudin says he is deeply honored to represent his country and is looking forward to working with the Government of Fiji .

A Graduate with a Bachelor of Laws (Honors) degree from the University of Singapore in 1966, HE Justice Rubin was called to the Singapore Bar in 1974.

Since then, HE Justice Rudin has served on various committees including that of Chairman of the Syariah Court of Appeal Board (1987-1991);Resource Panel member of the Government Parliamentary Committee, Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Law (1989 to 1990); Vice-Chairman of the Singapore Academy of Law, Law Reform Committee (1996 to 1997) to name a few.

At present HE Justice Rudin is a Fellow of the Singapore Academy of Law and a Fellow of the Singapore Institutes of Arbitrators. In 2005, he was awarded The Meritorious Service Medal by the President of the Republic of Singapore for his contributions to the Singapore Judiciary.

HE Justice Rubin is currently the High Commissioner of the Republic of Singapore to the Republic of South Africa. He is also concurrently accredited to the Republic of Botswana; the Republic of Namibia; the Republic of Zimbabwe; the Kingdom of Lesotho; and the Kingdom of Swaziland.

HE Justice Rubin is married to Mrs Jaya Mohideen who is currently Singapore’s Non-Resident Ambassador to Finland and they have two children
