Immigration Units now under one roof
Immigration Units now under one roof
10/03/2010
The Department of Immigration’s new set up to relocate all units under one building is an impressive move aimed at one stop shop concept in serving the public.
And today Immigration Minister, Ratu Epeli Ganilau was impressed with the changes while touring the new office because it reduces downtime of having to go through different offices to get served.
“I am very impressed with the way things have turned out,” he said.
“I know that the Immigration department had been going through tough time in the past years as they were acquiring two offices in central Suva but now that they are under one roof, it will cut down on unnecessary running to the different offices.”
The movement under one roof, Ratu Ganilau is efficient in that the public will visit only one office for immigration matters.
“This new building will also mean efficiency service to the people who are our customers,” Ratu Epeli said.
He congratulated the staff for enduring all the hardships in the past, vowing to do more as their line minister to ensure the best possible working environment.
“The immigration department plays a very important role in the national affairs of Fiji. The department plays a vital role and is a important component of the country.”
“ The ministry relies very heavily on the department especially when matters arise on border control and national security.”
