The services of outgoing Indian High Commissioner to Fiji, Professor Prabhakar Jha would be sorely missed, given his tremendous contribution towards strengthening foreign relations between India and Fiji.
In a farewell luncheon today, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola hosted Professor Jha and thanked him for the time served in Fiji.
He added that Professor Jha’s contribution to our foreign relations with India has been immense, in particular support provided during his tenure in the country as the head of the Indian High Commission and during a very challenging time of transition where Fiji as a nation was undertaking reforms.
He would be returning to India next month.
Professor Jha said he would certainly miss Fiji and its people especially after having visited most of the villages in Viti Levu.
In a separate occasion this morning, the Minister for Social Welfare, Dr Jiko Luveni treated Professor Jha to a special morning tea, where she acknowledged the outgoing High Commissioner’s contribution to the needy in the society.
