The integrated approach taken by the ministries of local government and regional development will be an impetus for progress in further development amidst the constraints that Rakiraki Town will face.
Special Administrator Ms Seini Raiko said the office of the provincial administrator Ra had combined its efforts with the town council administrator to build the new town and improve water services to those in the rural areas of Ra.
Ms Raiko believes such partnership will augur well given the teething problems experienced since the declaration of the new township.
She mentioned this to the Minister for Local Government, Urban Development, Housing and Environment, Colonel Samuela Saumatua who visited the Rakiraki Town Council office recently.
Col Saumatua said that Rakiraki was close to his heart because the newest town was declared during his term as the minister responsible for local government.
During the briefing Colonel Saumatua confirmed that resource constraints would always be a factor for consideration.
