JAPAN ENVOY PRESENTS CREDENTIALS

Japan’s new resident Ambassador to Fiji His Excellency Eiichi Oshima presented his credentials to the President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau, this morning at Government House.

The new Japanese envoy has served on numerous diplomatic postings including the Republic of Korea, the Philippines, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom.

Prior to his new diplomatic role, Ambassador Oshima served as the Consulate General at Japan’s consul office in Hong Kong.

Japan and Fiji established formal diplomatic relations in 1970. This has grown with both countries looking at expanding bilateral ties to strengthen relations.
