Today, five hard working frontline staff members at the Nadi International Airport were awarded the “FIJIAN HOSTS of the Month” Award for the months of June to October.
Viliame Waqaninavatu (Border Police), Joji Veiqaravi (AFL), Mary Ting (FRCA), Angela Komai (FRCA) and Deepak Kumar (FRCA) were presented awards by the Ministry of Tourism permanent secretary Elizabeth Powell, at Nadi Internaitonal Airport.
These individuals were selected for their excellent customer service to arriving and departing passengers.
Speaking at the event, Ms Powell congratulated the winners for their valued contribution and for making memorable experiences for arriving and departing travellers at the airport.
She acknowledged the support of tourism industry partners who are represented on the FIJIAN HOSTS Council and who provide monthly prizes.
The presentation ceremony also featured an address by Stefan Pichler, the CEO of Fiji Airways.
In his address, Mr Pichler congratulated the winners and expressed his appreciation of the Nadi Airport team’s commitment to providing the best service to travellers to and from Fiji.
Each winner received a FIJIAN HOSTS of the Month award signed by the Attorney-General and Minister for Tourism, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.
They also received a $250 grocery shopping voucher, and vouchers courtesy of Jacks Fiji Limited. Winners are selected from comment cards which are filled out by international visitors and posted in FIJIAN HOSTS kiosks that are strategically placed in Nadi International Airport’s departure and arrival lounges.
FIJIAN HOSTS is both a training and awards program. The training component of the program helps airport staff improve their customer service delivery and the awards component recognises their important contributions.
With the eight airport agencies at Nadi International Airport, the Ministry of Tourism launched the FIJIAN HOSTS program in September 2012 and has since trained approximately 350 Nadi Airport frontline team members.
