Keep up the good work - Ministry encourages teachers and students

25/10/2009

With only a week to go before the first, of the three national examinations for secondary schools, begins next Tuesday, November 3, the Education Ministry wishes to encourage teachers and students to keep up the good work and stay focused on set targets.

Students are encouraged to make full use of their teachers’ expertise in areas which they are not very confident in. In this regard, asking a teacher to repeat an explanation or to simplify complicated concepts is highly recommended.

Moreover, to consolidate what students have learnt from those difficult concepts, getting into worthwhile discussion groups and letting students share what they have learnt would really boost retention levels. This is an ideal opportunity for teachers to move around and evaluate the effectiveness of their teaching.

The Education Ministry is always indebted to teachers, for their tireless effort, during this crucial period, when exams are near and students must be thoroughly prepared.

The Ministry hopes that everyone at school would work together in unity so that examination candidates are armed to the teeth, ready for the final battle, beginning next Tuesday.
