LABASA YOUTH GRADUATE FROM BEAUTY THERAPY TRAINING

13 participants from the Labasa Beauty Therapy Training Certificate under the Ministry of Youth and Sports graduated at the Ministry’s Office at the Ro Qomate House in Labasa yesterday.

"Beauty therapy is my talent and I am thankful to the Ministry for giving me this chance”, said 26 year old Kelepi Ratiri of Bua who was also the only male participant at the training.

He said there were many things that they didn't know about beauty therapy and its medicines and the tools.

"I now have a glimpse of my future and hope to open my own business."

Gurmeet Kaur,26, who was also one of the participants said the training gave them an opportunity to at least gain a certificate and further their career.

"We knew the basics of beauty therapy but we needed the qualifications."

Training Instructor TJ Loloma said the productive training was also about empowering the youths.

"It was an honor, as the first lot graduated in 2012, this is the fourth batch and it’s all about reaching out to the young people and getting them prepared for the future."

Meanwhile; the Ministry’s Acting Principal Youth Officer for Research Policy Planning and Information Unit Phiip Hereniko said government through the Ministry is committed to ensure that all young people are provided adequate training opportunities.
