All schools will open as normal in the West with the exception of Votua Catholic Primary and Ba Muslim Primary in the Ba as well as Rakiraki Muslim Primary in Rakiraki.
However arrangement has been made to transport the students and teachers to schools close to them. Detail information is in the situation report below.
Please note the Ministry of Education has briefed the head teachers and principals on the new arrangements and parents are advised to follow accordingly.
SITUATION REPORT – Opening of School –Tuesday 7/02/2012
NADI - All schools should open on Tuesday 7/2/12
LAUTOKA - All school should open on Tuesday 7/2/12
BA/TAVUA - Votua Catholic Primary - Will not open for the next 2 weeks – Meanwhile -165 students will be transported to Khalsa Primary & Sanatan Dharam Kanya Primary. Arrangement to transport students and teachers from Votua Catholic to School close to them.
Ba Muslim Primary - Will not open for one week. Students will be taken up to Kamil College.
BA/TAVUA - Moto –Bridge broken - The secondary schools that normally attend secondary schools such as Xavier, Ba Sanatan etc. on the other side of the river will attend Nukuloa College and Moto Primary School.
Secondary School teachers staying on the same side of the river would help out with the teaching.
Some 418 students travelling from Moto side to town and vice-a-versa will not be allowed to cross the fast flowing Moto River.
All 8 secondary school students Forms 3 – 7 will be billeted in Nukuloa College and Moto Sanatan Primary School. Teachers will also be facilitated.
Students travelling from Ba Town side to Moto side will be billeted at Vatulaulau SD Primary School and at any nearest secondary school in Ba urban area.
Schools in Tavua, Vatukoula and Nadarivatu had also been affected by the prolonged floods in those areas, so these schools will also begin fresh on Tuesday 07/02/2012.
All schools in the Ba – Tavua districts will follow the national timetable for teaching and learning, so will adopt in their records as “Week 3 of Term 1 for 2012”
RA (RAKIRAKI) - Rakiraki Town is still flooded
Schools that cannot open tomorrow - Rakiraki Muslim Primary – Access road to the school is flooded.

Secondary schools students and teachers from Drana, Vatunimami, Thompson Street, Ilikini to attend Penang Sangam College
Primary students and teachers to attend Penang Sangam Primary
Secondary students and teachers on the other side of town to attend Nakauvadra High and Rakiraki Public High School. Likewise primary students and teachers are to attend Rakiraki Methodist and Wairuku Primary
