All logging operations in the Western Division have been temporarily suspended by the Forestry Department until further notice.
This was confirmed by the National Disaster Management Office today as landslides and flood batter the western region of the country.
This follows the assessment done by the French Guardian surveillance aircraft which made two trips over the western division earlier this week.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Primary Industries has confirmed that all farmers that were affected will be assisted through rehabilitation programs.
The technical mission from Sigatoka will help raise the seeds for the farmers to be planted on their farms.
The crop assessment has been done by the Ministry of Agriculture in areas in the Western Division for Disaster declared areas.
