The Ministry of Labour is inviting members of the public to visit them at the Government Information Referral Centre (GIRC) in Suva where they are displaying the different roles of the ministry.
Media Liaison Officer Ms Elina Kadi said this was an opportunity for the public to ask questions and witness the different responsibilities under the Ministry of Labour.
“We are open to the public this week from 8am to 4pm and everyone is welcome to visit and talk to us on any labour issue,” Ms Kadi said.
The ministry has a vision for a ‘decent and productive work for all’ with a mission to ‘ensure social justice, good faith employment relations, safe and productivity driven work place in Fiji’.
Areas of interest at the display include occupational health, employment relations, National Employment Centre, wages regulations, labour reforms, Military Serviceman Compensation, Industrial Relations Mediation, Foreign Employment Services, Dispute Resolution and Child Labour Unit.
The Ministry of Labour has offices in Suva, Sigatoka, Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Labasa and Savusavu.
