The Public Service Commission is seeking training providers to design and conduct Leadership Training for Senior Public Officials in line with the provisions of the Peoples Charter for Change, Peace and Progress and the Strategic Framework for Change and Sustainable Development.

The Chairman for the Public Service Commission, Mr Josefa Serulagilagi said the area of Leadership Training is essential for the Public Service.

“We need to have civil servants appropriately trained in areas of leadership and management given the emphasis on bringing about increased efficiencies in service delivery as well as professionalism in the service,” he said.

Mr Serulagilai said the Leadership Training will also assist in development of a succession plan for Senior Management in the civil service.

He said the Civil Service needs continuity and efficiency in all aspects.

Serulagilagi informed that the Public Service Commission has also approached the Singaporean Civil Service Training College for collaboration and assistance.

He said the Commission is also in the process of identifying and approaching other Leadership Training Institutes in the Asia Pacific Region to assist in this crucial area.
