Approval has been given to Lekutu Secondary School in Bua to start Form 7 in 2012.

The approval was given personally by the Minister for Education, National Heritage & Culture and Youth & Sports, Mr Filipe Bole while on visit at the Bua District this week.

Accompanied by the Permanent Secretary, Dr Brij Lal and senior staff of the Ministry, the visit was initially for secondary schools in Bua, but the official party also made quick stopover at nearby primary schools.

At Lekutu Secondary, the ministerial group assessed the need that have to be attended to before Form 7 kicks off in 2012.

Mr Bole also met with the school management committee of Lekutu Secondary and gathered issues raised.

Lekutu Secondary School had produced favourable FSLC results for the last three years and Mr Bole has urged the Principal and his staff to strive for excellence to gain the trust of parents to keep their children in, as Form 7 is about to start.

The promotion to upgrade secondary schools to have Form 7 places is also part of the Ministry of Education’s initiatives in Education for All and the 12 years compulsory education policy.
