The Fiji Development Bank has a new chairman today with the appointment of Mr Bob Lyon.
Mr Lyon replaced Mr John Prasad who has resigned from the position.
The Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum made this announcement today.
He said Mr Lyon has had a long working history in Fiji especially in the private sector and was most recently with ANZ Banking Group.
“Mr Lyon has been involved in Fiji for a number of years now and has also been involved with ANZ and is currently the chairman of FINTEL,” he said.
“Government is happy to have Mr Lyon onboard.
“A person of his caliber would be an asset given his banking background.
“Mr Lyon will bring in a lot of experience required in moving FDB forward.”
Meanwhile, FDB recorded a $3.5 million profit for the financial year ending June 30, 2009. The positive results was largely due to prudent financial measures that were implemented by the Bank.
