Four teams of 20 military personnel are on stand-by at the Force Training Group (FTG) in Nasinu to attend to any need should it arise.
This morning military personnel helped Nausori Health Center staff in ensuring the health centre was prepared for normal duties.
Military personnel help restored the health centre by moving chairs, tables, beds and benches from the maternity unit to the general outpatient department.
Commissioner Central Division Mr Laisenia Tuitubou said this morning that the team of naval officers deployed to Wailotua yesterday has returned last night after a full assessment of the situation in the area.
He also said his office will ensure that these military officers are provided logistical support to ensure services to the general public are restored as soon as possible.
Health personnel from the Rewa sub-division will be visiting the Nadoi evacuation centre and some villages along the Rewa River today.
Mr Laisenia Tuitubou said this is to ensure that sanitation and hygiene is maintained in these evacuation centers.
He added that water purification tablets will also be distributed to affected areas.
