MINISTER AKBAR ADVISES USP STUDENTS ASSOCIATION TO WORK IN UNITY

27/07/2021

The Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts, Hon. Rosy Akbar today encouraged and advised students of the University of the South Pacific (USP) to plan and prepare for the new challenges that lie ahead of them. The pandemic has changed the face of education globally and students across the world are forced to deal with the new normal.

Speaking at the USP Student Association 23rd Council Meeting this morning, Minister Akbar said, “We are set to face new challenges, some of which we may not have even thought possible, but I know that our leaders in the USPSA will help our students get through these unprecedented times, just as they always have”.

Minister Akbar advised all students to continue working together in partnership and as a collective student body to provide the much needed support and to continue motivating students across the University to work hard towards materialising their academic goals into a reality.

The USPSA has been in existence since 1968, when the University was founded, and is now one of the most diverse student bodies in the Pacific, with members from 12 different countries.
