The Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts, Hon. Rosy Akbar received cheque donations from the Arya Pratinidhi Sabha (APS) of Fiji.
The Sabha collectively presented cheque amounting to six thousand five hundred dollars ($6,500) to Minister Akbar this afternoon.
Mr. Kamlesh Arya, the Director Education of the Sabha said, “Soon after the recent tropical cyclones the Sabha made an appeal to its local affiliates and international Arya Samaj organizations”.
He further mentioned that the Sabha has internally raised $5000 and an international partner, Arya Pratinidhi of Queensland, has contributed $1500.
Sabha, as an education stakeholder, believes Ministry is most suited for delivering this assistance as it has the statistical data and the necessary professional network.
Minister Akbar says, “We are very thankful to APS for this kind generosity as the assistance will further boost the support to the students”.
The Ministry has received overwhelming support from NGOs, private sectors and individuals as all of them showed compassion towards our children and contributed whole heartedly.
The Ministry will continue in its effort to provide equitable quality education for all Fijians under all circumstances.
