The Minister for Education, Heritage & Arts Hon. Rosy Akbar hosted the Ambassador of Japan to Fiji His Excellency Masahiro Omura to afternoon tea this afternoon, congratulating him on the completion of his 3 year term.
Hon. Akbar conveyed her appreciation to the Government and People of Japan for the Japanese funded rehabilitation projects under the Prime Minister’s Adopt a School initiative, which restored schools devastated by tropical cyclones since 2016.
The Japanese Government have donated around FJD$ 11 million to assist more than 13 schools in the central, western and eastern education districts over the last 3 years.
Minister Akbar thanked the Ambassador for his commitment to enhancing Fiji-Japan diplomatic and peaceful relations and conveyed her best wishes for his future undertakings.
