The Minister for Environment and Climate Change, Hon. Mosese Bulitavu, delivered an inspiring address to the Fiji Delegation during their midweek briefing at COP30 in Belém, Brazil.

He urged all delegates to negotiate with purpose, integrity, and unity, and to bring home real outcomes that matter for Fiji and all Small Island Developing States.

“We are not here to participate — we are here to deliver,” said Minister Bulitavu.

“Every conversation, every paragraph we defend, every alliance we build must lead to results that strengthen our people’s resilience and protect our islands’ future.”

Addressing negotiators, technical experts, youth, civil society, and media representatives, Minister Bulitavu reminded the team that Fiji’s voice carries moral weight and global respect, built through years of consistent advocacy for justice, ambition, and equity in the climate process.

He encouraged delegates to defend the Pacific’s priorities with courage and compassion.

“Behind every policy we push is a family losing their home to rising seas, a farmer whose crops no longer grow, a child who deserves a safer tomorrow. Let that truth guide your words and your work.”

As the briefing concluded, Minister Bulitavu reminded the team of their responsibility and purpose.

“You are here because you were chosen to represent Fiji. Let’s deliver what we came here to do.”
