The Minister for Education, Filipe Bole commended five secondary schools in the Education District of Cakaudrove for results attained in the Fiji School Leaving Certificate Examination for 2011.
Napuka Secondary School, Saint Bedes College and Vaturova Koroalau High School are categorized as medium performing schools while Navatu Secondary and Saqani High School belong to the high performing category.
While addressing teachers and students of Saqani Secondary School, Mr Bole applauded them for their effort and commitment.
“Your school is ranked with 28 other top schools in Fiji,” Mr Bole said.
“Being in the high performing group has been instilled as a culture of the school for the past four years.”
The minister echoed a common challenge to the five schools since all of them are preparing their pioneer candidates for the Fiji Seventh Form Examination this year.
In a short briefing with teachers of Navatu Secondary School, Mr Bole commended their efforts and also challenged them on the important tasks ahead of them.
“You deserve to be congratulated for your efforts in 2011.This year is obviously a challenging one for you with the introduction of Fiji Seventh Form Examination and the school must work hard to continue to produce better results for this is a totally new program,” Mr Bole said.
All secondary schools in Fiji are now placed into three categories based on External Examination results of 2011.
Schools that scored less than 50 per cent are part of the under performing category, those that attained 50-79 per cent are categorized as medium performing while those that score above 80 per cent are part of the high performing group.
