The Minister for Policing, Hon. Ioane Naivalurua, is currently undertaking a five-day visit to Kadavu as part of a concerted effort to support and strengthen frontline enforcement initiatives targeting illegal activities in the province.
The visit underscores the Government’s ongoing commitment to tackling key issues such as the illegal cultivation and trafficking of drugs, transnational crimes through Kadavu’s maritime domain, strengthening community policing initiatives, and raising awareness against criminal activities in villages.
Minister Naivalurua will visit Police posts in Kadavu, meet with civil servants, villagers and the youth, and lead open dialogue sessions aimed at fostering collaborative approaches to law enforcement and community resilience.
The visit also aims to provide an avenue for the people of Kadavu to voice their concerns and contribute ideas for positive change, with a focus on sustainable development, public safety, and maritime security.
Minister Naivalurua’s engagement reflects the Coalition Government's approach to safeguarding Fiji’s islands and supporting rural communities in the fight against crime and the impacts of environmental challenges.
