Students in Tuva Primary School have been urged to fully make use of the opportunities provided by the Bainimarama Government and pursue their dreams in life.

This follows the opening of the Tuva Primary School computer lab and new Head Teachers office in Nadroga this week by the Honourable Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts, Dr Mahendra Reddy.

“The Bainimarama Government is adamant to provide quality education to every Fijian student. We have been providing free transport assistance, free textbooks, free tuition and this year we have embarked on providing free milk for all year 1 students. This is testament of the government’s commitment to provide the best educational assistance to all Fijian students,” said Minister Reddy.

‘‘We have also established three Technical Colleges this year for students wishing to pursue a career in Technical Education. This is an alternative for those that do not wish to pursue higher education but have the technological expertise to establish a career. We do not want any student to be left behind so we have secured alternatives and opportunities to ensure transition to tertiary institutions and to the employment sector.

“This school has invested a total of $20,000 from the grant provided by the government to expand your computer lab to give you all an opportunity to learn and acquire some skills in the use of computer. We now live in an era that is revolutionized by technology and it’s only appropriate to get relevant resources to assist in your learning.”

Head Teacher for Tuva Primary School, Subramani Krishna said that the school is grateful to the government for its assistance to schools through the grant.

“We are indeed thankful to the government of the day for providing us with adequate funding to assist in developing the school. It is important to create a conducive learning environment for our children and this is possible through the grant provided by the government. We have now increased the capacity of our computer room which will open up opportunities for more students to get acquainted to the use of computers. I have other development plans in place for the school and this has all been made possible through the grant that is provided by this government,” concluded the Head Teacher.
