The Minister for Youth and Sports Hon.Jese Saukuru received a courtesy call from the Head of the Delegation of the European Union for the Pacific His Excellency Mr.Sujiro Seam today(18.01.23).
Hon.Saukuru and His Excellency Mr. Seam, who led a delegation from the EU, held discussions on opportunities to advance Fiji’s interests through stronger collaboration focusing on the key priority areas including youth empowerment, elimination of violence against girls.
The Minister also highlighted that the Ministry of Youth and Sports is committed to empowering Fijian youth in becoming advocates for change.
He also spoke on the importance of youth being provided with resources to prepare them for the future, adding that education whether formal or non-formal was also fundamentally important.
The Minister for Youth and Sports said that the Ministry looks forward to working with the EU in the future.
The Head of the Delegation of the European Union for the Pacific said their main priority is to engage with the youth in Fiji.
