The Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Jese Saukuru led a delegation on his first official visit to the Northern Division last Thursday (05.01.23).
Minister Saukuru, upon meeting with staff based in the Labasa office, stressed the importance of working together in order to achieve greater outcomes in the future.
He also reminded them the importance of their individual roles, as this was the foundation of nurturing young leaders in preparing them for the future.
He said that the Ministry had the mandate covering the youth populace which makes up for One-Third of the country’s population, adding that in order to reach out to the 300,000 youth they would need to work from the grassroots level.
He also highlighted the changes made on retirement age and the removal of contract-based employment for all civil servants.
Divisional Manager North Mr. Walter Matalau reassured the Minister for Youth and Sports that his good office is ready to serve the youth of the North, and they will continue to work together as a team.
