The Minister for Youth and Sports Hon. Jese Saukuru visited the Naleba Youth Training Center based in Labasa last Thursday (05.01.23).
Minister Saukuru said the Ministry’s training programmes fills in a much needed role in providing training and education that are not found in the formal education sectors.
He said the Ministry will look at ameliorating the facility in areas that need to be upgraded such as the equipment in the gymnasium and improve the hostel premises for both young men and women.
The Naleba Youth Training Centre provides non-formal education through its courses that develop market oriented skills for unemployed and rural based youth.
The centre offers opportunities to young people through specific skills and character development trainings to equip the youth in reaching their full potentials for future employment, personal development towards sustainable livelihood, increased socio-economic status and improved quality of life.
The Naleba Training Centre provides boarding facilities with the target of 50 youth to be trained.
