Minister Lynda Tabuya, the Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection met with Christine Arab, Regional Director UN Women for Asia-Pacific, to reaffirm their vital partnership in progressing gender equality in Fiji with plans to collaborate further moving forward.
Minister Tabuya is in Bangkok attending the 2024 Asia-Pacific Care Forum hosted by UN Women, where government, civil society, development partners and private sector convened with the theme Transforming Care: Building Alliances, Empowering Women, Reshaping Economies.
The meeting with UN Women Regional Director was a timely one as preparations are underway for the convening of the regional women’s forum on 30 years of the Beijing Women’s Plan of Action in November this year.
