MINISTER USAMATE MAXIMISES SEASONAL WORK PUBLIC CONSULTATION FOR RURAL MARITIME ISLANDS

14/10/2016

The Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations Hon. Jone Usamate will be conducting week long public consultations on seasonal work employment opportunities for the rural maritime islands off Vanua Levu next Monday.

“This time around I will be visiting Yadua, Galoa, Kia, Mali, Druadrua, Cikobia, Naqelelevu, Yacata, Qamea, Yanuca, Rabi, Kioa and Navatu,” Minister Usamate said.

“My ministry has not visited these maritime islands and this is an opportune time for us to meet and discuss opportunities for overseas employment under the seasonal work scheme and programme both for Australia and New Zealand.”

“The consultation is to get the Tikinas in these rural maritime islands to select their pilot workers and register with the team,” he added.

The Minister has also urged all community members in these areas to make use of this opportunity.
