12/03/2022

Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum officiated at the launch of MIOT Pacific Medical, a Medical and Diagnostic Centre in Suva last night.

The centre will provide a range of services including Day Care Services, Diagnostic Services, Emergency and Minor Procedures, General Outpatient, Home Visits, International Expert Specialist Care, Specialist Camps, and Telemedicine.

In his remarks, the A-G highlighted Government initiatives carried out during COVID-19 with the Private Medical General Practitioners Scheme.

Fijians were able to take advantage of the scheme to access private medical services that they could not otherwise afford.

The A-G praised MIOT Pacific Medical for its efforts to enhance the delivery of medical services, recognizing its plans to open its services within the next 6 months in Nadi and Nasole.

The A-G congratulated MIOT Pacific's deep digital engagement, through which all its patients’ medical records will be maintained through a fully integrated digital platform. By using this platform, patients can also book appointments online.

In line with the government's digitalFiji program, which has among other things, increased Internet access for ordinary Fijians, the A-G said MIOT Pacific is the first medical institution to implement a paperless system.
