The Permanent Secretary for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations, Osea Cawaru met with HealthX CEO Carollyne Palling last week to discuss the recruitment of around 120 Australia Pacific Training Coalition (APTC) graduates in Aged Care.
HealthX is an Aged Care Labour Hire Company based in Brisbane, Australia and has been providing long-term Health Care solutions for over 15 years; and has developed expertise and experience in both local and international recruitment of Registered Nurses and Health Care professionals.
CEO Ms. Palling confirmed that HealthX has recruited and mobilised 9 Fijian Aged-Care workers in December 2021, with another 21 workers departed for Australia last weekend and their representatives are here again in Fiji to conduct interviews for these APTC graduates next week.
“HealthX believes in core value that is sustainability, delivering quality of care, delivering continuous care in order to have a social positive impact,” said Ms. Palling.
PS Cawaru added that Fijians will certainly add value to the Aged Care sector because they are loving, caring, compassionate, and have respect for the elderly.
The employer through the Government of Australia is here to foster a good working relationship with the Fijian Government through the Employment Ministry as the Labour Sending Unit (LSU) on the recruitment of Fijian workers in the Aged Care industry and also to create a pool of workers for the upcoming mobilisations.
Currently APTC is working in collaboration with FNU through the use of training facilities at the Fiji School of Nursing whereby FNU Trainers are getting hands-on training from the certified APTC Aged Care Trainers.
Mr. Cawaru extended the Fijian Government’s appreciation to the Australian Government and HealthX for believing in our people and returning to Fiji to recruit more Fijians for employment opportunities under the Aged-Care industry and for the heads-up in creating a pool of workers to meet the industry’s upcoming demands.
