MORE FIJIANS TO BE EMPLOYED AT NEW WORLD IGA HEAD OFFICE & WAREHOUSE

Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum today (4/08/22) attended the ground-breaking ceremony of a $45m New World Independent Grocers Association (IGA) new Head Office and Warehouse in Wairabetia.

The A-G commended the company for its confidence and its willingness to invest in the Fijian economy. He spoke about how the economy is now back on track after the pandemic highlighting a 12.4 percent forecast growth for this year.

He also highlighted the Fijian Government's initiative to assist landowners by subdividing their land for development, highlighting the importance of having a vision and plan to succeed.

New World Chairman, Pravin Patel stated the new development shows their commitment to Fiji and all Fijians.

With the completion of the new $45 million centralised distribution center, 100 more Fijians are expected to be employed at New World stores, which currently has over 1000 employees.
