MORE THAN 30 YOUTH BAND MEMBERS GRADUATE

More than 30 music students graduated yesterday from the Youth Training Centre in Valelevu.

Acting Commander of the Fiji Military Forces Commodore Viliame Naupoto was chief guest and said; “I am pleased to announce that we are willing to take in at least 20 of the graduating students today to march in for the upcoming recruit in a few weeks from now to form the core of what will be known as the Territorial force band.”

“If they make it through, they have an opportunity of joining the Regular force and they will definitely be offered an opportunity to participate in peace keeping duties in Sinai,” Commodore Naupoto said.

“The RFMF provides the band for the MFO in Sinai and will continue to recruit from this training centre as a first choice for intake into the RFMF Band,” Commodore Naupoto said.

Minister for Youth and Sports Honourable Laisenia Tuitubou said; “We are really appreciative of the relationship that has been established between the RFMF and our Youth Training Centre in Valelevu.”

“It has guaranteed placement and employment for these graduates and also security for their future,” Minister Tuitubou said.

“The announcement by the Acting Commander fulfils our partnership and the role the ministry is playing to empower Fiji’s young populace and everyone that passes through our training facilities – to secure a sustainable livelihood.”

Hon. Tuitubou praised RFMF for the announcement yesterday and also the support rendered to the ministry especially in the donation of old brass musical instruments.
