Travel from (former) containment areas to non-containment areas in Viti Levu

A notice for members of the public who may have travelled or plan to travel from (former) containment areas to non-containment areas in Viti Levu, for instance from Nadi or Lautoka to Sigatoka or Navua.

The public is reminded that travel from a (former) containment area to a non-containment area is an opportunity for individuals returning home to their permanent place of residence and is not for temporary movement or for visiting friends and family.

The following protocols are for individuals who may have moved or are planning to move to non-containment areas after the lifting of borders in the Western Division.

Those who plan to travel from a (former) containment zone to a non-containment area
On arrival at your destination, Call 158 and inform them your movement from <state details (specify) location address) of the area you came from, and provide details of your current location <state details (specify) location address and phone number).
Begin home quarantine at your place of residence for 14 days from your arrival date.

Those who traveled before 11 June are asked to Call 158 and inform the following:
*Name, specific address at your current location.
*Date of departure from the (former) containment zone to your current location.
*Your movements since arrival at your current destination.
*You are asked to begin 14-day home quarantine at your current place of residence, counting from your day of arrival.

All individuals who have traveled in this category are asked to observe the following while in home quarantine.
*Do not attend work.
*Do not leave your place of residence, hotel or accommodation.
*Do not participate in social activities including family and friends gatherings.
*Do not visit supermarkets, restaurants, cafes, takeaways and food markets.

While at home try to maintain safe physical distancing from your household members, if you can, quarantine from your household members in a separate room.
*If it is not possible to quarantine from your family members within your residence, try to maintain a 1m distance from the members of your household at all times while inside the house.

The purpose of this self-quarantine at the traveler’s destination is to reduce any potential spread of the COVID-19 virus for anyone who may have unknowingly been exposed to the virus or who was a primary or secondary contact with a known COVID case from the place of departure.

Public cooperation and compliance in following this advice is required to monitor potential exposures that have transferred to non-containment areas and to stop the spread of the virus in our communities if there is a case.
