Both said cadet training instilled discipline in them.

“I really enjoyed the cadet training because it brought discipline in school and students had to cooperate with army officers. Most challenging part was crawling on the mud pools but it was good experience and I plan to further my education at Fiji School of Nursing,” Vakalalavale said.

On the other hand Saro said the training lasted for three weeks and towards the final week was cadet merit where soldiers were monitoring their movements and had special programmes.

“It is lot of work and I am happy to see the platoon being disciplined, I was hoping to meet the Prime Minister and ask him of joining the army,” Saro said.

Litia Yabakidua received the best female cadet. She said this was her second year and she led a platoon of new students.

“I had to socialize with the new students and I’ve learnt how to discipline myself and respect others.”

The school’s extracurricular activities for term one are sports, cadet drills and bollywood kula film awards.
