The Mindpearl Call Centre at the Fiji Trade and Investment Board (FTIB) administered Kalabu Tax Free Zone (KTFZ) has commenced operations with approximately 30 call centre attendants to cater for their contract with Air Pacific and Pacific Sun with the first call being answered on Sunday November 1st, 2009.
In a press conference held today at the Mindpearl conference room at the Kalabu Tax Free Zone the FTIB welcomed the commencement of operations by the Mindpearl Limited.

The call-centre can accommodate more than 700 employees at one time and it is a first of its kind in Fiji in terms of the scale of its operations, which is projected to grow approximately 3000 local employees over the next few years.
During the press conference the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for FTIB, Annie Rogers expressed her appreciation to Mindpearl team on the commencement of operations and said this occasion is not only a special event for the project holders but it is also shared by the people of Fiji who will be able to take advantage of the huge employment opportunities to be available in the coming years.
Rogers stressed that once fully operational, the Mindpearl Call-Centre will be used as a beacon for prospective investors who are looking to explore opportunities in Fiji’s growing ICT sector.
She said FTIB will showcase the Mindpearl operations to other potential back-office and call centre investors as what Fiji can offer in the ICT area.
The ICT sector is one of the key sectors that FTIB is aggressively promoting given its potential to create significant employment and investment opportunities.

The Mindpearl Call Centre building includes four of the five call centres and the final date of completion for the entire project is scheduled for 10th November 2009.
