The Minister of Education, Mr Filipe Bole, in a simple afternoon tea welcomed two new senior officers to the Ministry on Tuesday. The officers are Dr Brij Lal and Mr Satindra Deo. Both officers came from the Western Education Office.
Dr Brij Lal who was the former Divisional Education Officer Western will assume the office of the Director Primary Education. He will be in charge of all the primary schools in Fiji and Rotuma.
Mr Satindra Deo, the former principal of Natabua High School will take over the position of the Director Secondary Education from Mrs Salote Dugu who has gone back to the TVET Section of the Ministry of Education as its Acting Director.
In welcoming the two officers, the Minister says, Dr Lal’s doctorate achievement is a lesson to other officers who can pursue further qualification online. Dr Lal is a graduate of University of Ireland.
As for Mr Deo, the Minister says, the Director Secondary comes with a wealth of experience. He has served in a number of secondary schools and in Natabua he showed his potentials as an educationists which could be utilized well from headquarters.
