The Minister for Education and his permanent secretary were welcomed in style by students of Nakelo District School when they made an impromptu visit to the school last Friday.
The visit was to witness activities done in school during the International Day Against Drug and Illicit Trafficking (IDADAIT).
Nakelo students waving blue and red ribbons lined both sides of the road leading to their school as the Education Minister, Mr Filipe Bole and his entourage arrived.
Both the kindergarten and primary students were neatly attired as they sat in their spacious hall eager to read out their poems and to perform a skit befitting the occasion.
Mr Bole reminded students of Nakelo to stay away from marijuana, yaqona, cigarettes and glue to be able to attain the highest level of education.
“I am here to tell you to stay away from yaqona, marijuana, glue and cigarette because they are dirty and not good for your health as you are innocent and clean. Stay that way and you will succeed in your education and have a bright future in the employment world,” Mr Bole reminded students.
The message from the minister is not only for Nakelo students on IDADAIT but for all students in Fiji to be resounded every day.
