Missing persons

There is a concern now on the number of missing persons being reported at Police stations around the country in the past 48 hours.

Police are now seeking the public’s assistance on the whereabouts of the following people;
 
1)Jovesa Salabogi, 19 years of Tagimoucia St, Lautoka who left home at 9am on March 26 for Lautoka Hospital and is yet to return home. He is 6ft 1’ of fair complexion and has frizzy hair. He was last seen wearing t-shirt and black trousers.
 
2) Asita Maria, 15yrs, a Form 3 student of Savunawai, Nadi. She was sent to the Nadi market by her mother at 4.30pm on March 24 and has not returned. She is fair and about 165cm height, was last seen wearing blue lee shorts and black t-shirt and yellow coloured sleeveless top. She is a student of Shiri Vivekanand College.
 
3)  Shiraz, 37-year-old handicapped man of Vishnu Deo Rd, Nakasi. He went missing on March 26 around 1pm. Last seen leaving home to go to a friend’s house. He is slim built, 1.6m tall, fair complexion and black curly hair, was last seen wearing blue long pants, grey t-shirt with black safety boots.
 
4) Karia Kirsti Chand 17 yrs, of Maqalevu, Nadi, was last seen going to bed on the evening of Saturday, March 26, but was missing when her family went to check on her early morning of Sunday, March 27. She is of fair complexion, 5ft 1 tall. 
 
5)  Jese Gaunavou, eight years, Class 3Y of Dilkusha Boys School. Last seen leaving school on Monday, March 28 at 2.30pm. He is slim built, 1.02cm tall and black complexion. Last seen wearing Dilkusha Boys uniform, brown bag and black shoes.

Missing persons

Concerns have been raised on the number of missing person reports received at Police Stations around the country.

According to the Fiji Police Force, there is an average of three reports daily.

Police is advising the general public that those involved in disputes should try and resolve their issues rather than fleeing.  

“If one is fearful of his/her safety then he/she should seek assistance. We can be of help in this area if one needs matters resolved,” Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said.

These are the latest cases. Those with any information regarding the following are asked to contact the nearest Police station:

1). Missing is Tarusila Qoli, 16 years, Class 6 student of Christian Mission Fellowship Primary School and residing at Natuvukica Road, Tacirua East. Was last seen on 31/01/11 at 6am leaving home.

2). Forzia Farman, 25 years, wife of Mohammed Ismail of Solove, Labasa was reported missing by her husband since 31/01/11.

3). Dibula Qica, 42 years of Korovou, Labasa has been missing from home since 27/01/11
