The Ministry of Education has now revamped its website to efficiently serve its stakeholders in terms of delivering information about the Ministry’s plans, policies and initiatives.
Minister for Education, National Heritage, Culture and Arts, Youth and Sports, Labour and Industrial Relations, Local Government, Urban Development and Housing Mr Filipe Bole while officially launching the revamped website said to improve services it is essential to also share information.
Mr Bole hopes that with the Education website being revamped now people would be able to access timely and accurate information through online and especially he is hoping these information to reach out to the disadvantaged communities.
“With the advent of our e-community learning centres, through Government’s initiative to decentralise and improve its services, the Ministry is hopeful that this website will also be easily accessed by our disadvantaged communities,” Mr Bole said.
He said the website is part of the Ministry’s effort to improve on service delivery.
“It is also part of our effort to be transparent in sharing information.”
Mr Bole said sharing information is as important as having the need to know the information and the developed countries have moved in this direction.
“There is much to be learnt from more developed countries, where Government agencies have moved from a “need to know culture” to a “need to share culture,” Mr Bole added.
Indeed, he said through the revamped website, we are well on our way towards what some now describe “as a responsibility to provide mindset”.
The website can be accessed on the address www.education.com.fj .
