NATIONAL REGISTER OF VOTERS AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION

19/12/2013

Members of the public will be able to inspect the National Register of Voters at display centres across Fiji from the 19th until the 24th of December.

The Acting Permanent Secretary Responsible for Elections, Mohammed Saneem, said that Fijians who have registered to vote are encouraged to visit one of these centres to check their voter details.

“We want to make sure the Register contains the correct and most up-to-date information so that we can assign individuals to the appropriate polling station,” he said.

The Permanent Secretary also said that any eligible Fijians who have not yet registered to vote would be able to register at any one of these display centres.

The Permanent Secretary added that after this period the National Register would be available in permanent locations across Fiji.

He said that soon the Elections Office would be taking the Register on a tour around Fiji's rural and maritime communities.

The locations and opening hours of the display centres will be advertised in the Fiji Sun and on the Elections Office Website www.electionsfiji.gov.fj<http://www.electionsfiji.gov.fj>.
