Former Chief Economic Planning Officer for Policy at the Office of the Prime Minister, Mr Josefo Seniwatui Navuku has been officially appointed as the new Commissioner for the Central Division.
Mr Navuku takes over from former Commissioner Central, Mr Setareki Tale who retired late last year.
Mr Navuku said that he will use his experience from the Office of the Prime Minister especially in carrying out innovative development programs.
“The three priorities that I would bring into the Central Division is to Strengthen the Information Management coordination, second is to make this office a one stop shop for the five provinces and the third is to empower the team as they are leaders in their different fields” said Mr Navuku.
Mr Navuku will be looking after the five provinces in the Central Division, comprising of Rewa, Tailevu, Naitasiri, Serua and Namosi.
He began his career as a civil servant in 2001 with the Ministry of Public Enterprises before joining the Office of the Prime Minister in May 2012.
He officially started today at his new office in Nausori.
