The NDMO is organising a whole-of-society coordination meeting with representatives of non-government organisations, faith-based organisations, and other community groups to ensure the rapid and equitable distribution of assistance to communities affected by Cyclone Ana.
Director NDMO applauded the many organisations which have come forward to offer their support and urged them to join the NDMO's coordinated nationwide relief effort.
"NDMO's disaster reporting is the most accurate and up-to-date, giving us the clearest picture of what is needed in affected communities. By coordinating our response, we can target resources where they are needed most urgently, and ensure we don't double-up on relief in some areas while other communities go unreached," said the Director.
The meeting will be held at 12pm Tuesday, 2 February 2021, at the Ministry of Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management head office on Knollys Street in Suva. An agenda will be circulated to organisations which have confirmed their attendance.
Representatives from interested parties are requested to RSVP to 9989514.
