Today was a joyous day for the students, teachers, parents and management of Nakaikogo Sanatan Dharam School in Koronivia, Nausori as the Hon. Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts Dr Mahendra Reddy opened two new classrooms at the school.

The new classrooms were fully funded by Government’s fee-free education grant at a cost of $61,854.

Minister Reddy, while officiating at the opening ceremony, said the new classrooms will assist the current and future students of the school with better learning facilities.

He said the provision of the new classrooms was reflective of the Fijian Government’s commitment to ensure that all students receive quality education.

“We believe that immaterial of what ethnic group you belong to, what religious beliefs you hold or where you originate from, everyone needs to make progress. Progress is a reality and a requirement,” Minister Reddy said.

He said the Ministry of Education will continue to play a critical role in ensuring that Government’s overall vision of growth and development is delivered.

“The Fijian Government’s ideology is that you all have a common vision, a vision towards ensuring that you have a peaceful and stable Fiji where everyone progresses and develops,” Minister Reddy said.

He urged the students to make the most of various opportunities provided by Government, listen to their teachers and focus on their studies so they could become better citizens of the country.

Nakaikogo Sanatan Dharam School head teacher, Mr Ami Chand said the assistance provided by Government will go a long way in securing a better future for the students.
