NEW MAGISTRATE SWORN IN

A new resident Magistrate was sworn in at Government House in Suva this morning.

 

Sufia Fazilat Hamza – Ali, 36, took her oath of office before His Excellency the President, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau.

The swearing in was also witnessed by the Chief Justice Anthony Gates and the Chief registrar Irani Arachchi.

Born in Lautoka, Mrs Hazma – Ali, is a former student of Marcellin Primary School and Saint Joseph’s Secondary School.She has a Bachelor of Law from the University of the South Pacific and has held various posts in the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) office before taking up her new role as Resident Magistrate.

Ratu Epeli congratulated Mrs Thamsa and wished her well in her new appointment to the Fiji judiciary.
