Construction works carried out at the Duavata Secondary School in Cawaro in the province of Macuata will become an incentive for students to continuously attend classes.

While commending Government for the construction works carried out, the school’s manager Apolosi Ibe said that this new development will be an incentive not just for students but for parents as well to send their children to school.

“The school roll so far is 67 from form 3 to 7 and I am optimistic that after the construction of these new facilities will attract more parents and students next year,” Ibe said.

Two dormitories, two teachers’ quarters and two ablution blocks are currently being constructed at the school with a total cost of more than $200,000 funded by Government.

Ibe said that parents and teachers of Duavata Secondary are happy with the construction work which is currently being supervised by engineers from the Republic of Fiji Military Forces.

“The construction work started last year and should be completed in the next two months. Men from three the three villages of Cawaro, Nukusa and Lagi are helping in the construction,” Ibe said.

Ibe said they have also asked Government to assist them with the construction of a dining hall for the secondary students because at the moment they are using the primary school dining hall.
