STAFF from the Office of the President will now benefit from a new block of flats that was opened this afternoon by His Excellency the President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau.
The four flats, which is one of the seven capital projects under the head of State’s office, will house four families who had to previously live in bachelor quarters.
Office of the President acting official secretary, Pene Baleinabuli, said this was part of Government’s efforts to look after the wellbeing of its human resource as these are the people delivering the service to the President.
“Providing similar accommodation to other staff is the long term plan of the Office of the President and we have been given $2 million for the seven capital projects we have this year,” he said.
The new block of flats was completed in 13 months by the Ministry of Works at the cost of $500,000
