Mr Cawaru thanked the employer on behalf of the Fijian Government for taking the time to visit Fiji and to meet with the team to discuss more employment opportunities for Fijians in New Zealand.

SSCL Chief Executive Officer, Shaun Fogarty highlighted that they have already recruited a total of 78 Fijian workers from 2018-2021 and are looking at the recruitment of more than 200 Fijians soon under the horticulture and viticulture industries.

“We are indeed impressed with the organisation of the recruitment with the NEC Team, it’s a very transparent and fair system. We are keen to work with the team for the recruitment of Fijians with SSCL, “added CEO Fogarty.

PS Cawaru lauded the commendation made by the employer and further added that the Ministry continuously review its current systems and processes to ensure that Fiji provides the best product in terms of labour supply to overseas employers.

SSCL targeted unemployed individuals from rural settings including those without any proper qualifications, hence having the capability and the capacity to work in the agriculture industry.
