The Permanent Secretary for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations, Mr Osea Cawaru, officially closed the Pre-Departure Training (PDT) for the nine Aged-Care Fijian workers who will be leaving soon, under the Australia Pacific Labour Scheme (PLS) labour mobility program, at Albert Park on Friday 10 December 2021.
Mr Cawaru congratulated the selected Fijian workers for successfully completing the training and conveyed the Fijian Government’s expectation as their good work performance will create more opportunities for other unemployed Fijians.
The Fijian workers were reminded of the core values with their spiritual beliefs and teachings, to guide them while working in Australia and to keep them on track especially towards their overall work attitude.
The briefing included the Financial Inclusion program from ANZ Bank and awareness from the Fiji National Provident Fund on voluntary contribution and other important components in preparing workers prior to their departure.
The PLS and Seasonal Worker Program (SWP) is a Government to Government arrangement between Fiji and Australia under the Vuvale Partnership.
