Nakelo to start computer classes

28/06/2011

Nakelo District School in Tailevu will start its computer classes in 2012.

This announcement was made to the management committee by the Education Minister, Mr Filipe Bole when he visited the school last Friday.

“The Ministry of Education will assist you with 25 computers and accessories in view of your preparation for computer classes in 2012,” Mr Bole told the school management.

The announcement was a ‘special gift’ to the school on the
International Day Against Drug and Illicit Trafficking or IDADAIT.

Teachers at Nakelo were overwhelmed with the announcement.

Parents, teachers and students of Nakelo, not wanting to be caught unprepared by the ‘surprise visit’ of the minister, prepared a ‘surprise lunch’ of the Nakelo delicacy, ‘mana in miti’.

Primary schools in the country will be taking computer classes in 2012 but it will be done in phases because there are 735 primary schools in total.
