The Tui Namosi, Ratu Suliano Matanitobua commended government officials for their dedication and courage in reaching out to his people considering the geographical location of villages and districts in the province.
In his opening address at the Namosi Provincial Council meeting Ratu Suliano also thanked the Roko Tui Namosi and his officers for executing what they were tasked for over the last 10 months, assisting the people of Namosi, in line with government’s intention in terms of development in the province.
“The people of Namosi will continue to support the Government and whatever initiatives it will bring about to steer them forward in terms of development. This will benefit the people for better living standards,” Ratu Suliano said.
“With this Namosi will certainly contribute to a better Fiji.”
Ratu Suliano issued a challenge to the people of Namosi, district representatives and the ‘Vanua of Namosi,’ as he sets his goal for the province to focus on education in the year 2011 -“EDUCATION IS A PRIORITY FOR NAMOSI IN 2011.”
The Tui Namosi emphasised the importance of education.
“If Namosi needs to prosper in years to come then parents, guidance and vanua elders need to put education as a priority,” Ratu Suliano said.
He urged people of Namosi to consume kava wisely and utilise resources like idle land for better returns to be able to send children to school.
Ratu Suliano said parents need to pay attention on good education for their children and time management was equally important.
