New PS assumes post

The Ministry of Education wishes to announce to all teachers, school managements and education officers of its new Permanent Secretary.

As from today, Monday 21st of June 2010, Dr Brij Lal is assuming the position of Permanent Secretary of Education from Ms Rokobua Naiyaga who was acting on the position since April of this year.

Dr Lal has served as a teacher, head teacher, Education Officer, Senior Education Officer, Divisional Education Officer, Director of Primary Education and Deputy Secretary for Primary and Secondary Education before assuming the position of Permanent Secretary of Education.

He was born and brought up in Bua and had all his education life from primary to high school in the north.

In an e-mail sent out this morning, Ms Rokobua Naiyaga on behalf of the Ministry of Education congratulated Dr. Brij Lal for his appointment as the new Permanent Secretary for Education.  At the same time, she thanked all the officers of this Ministry for their co-operation and support during the time she acted as Permanent Secretary.
